We manufacture custom-designed mandrel wires and wire stylets, typically made with nitinol and stainless steel. If you have a specialty wire request, let us know, and we will see if we can help. Diameters can range from 0.032″ to 0.188″. Our mandrel wires are manufactured for a variety of industries with very tight tolerances and precisely to our customers’ specifications. Our advanced CNC machinery and a wide variety of stock materials enable fast turnaround for small prototypes and large production orders.
Among the products we manufacture, wire mandrels receive the most unique design requests, including tapers, steps, radii, flats, D-shaped features, and coatings. CWT can grind wire mandrels with multiple taper levels to meet your specs, including constant and multi-angle tapers.
We also manufacture mandrel wire for our coiling operations. This allows us to create coils with varying ODs and IDs along the length of the same part. Vertical integration helps CWT deliver quality products quickly.
We have built twisted-wire stylets and precision-ground core-wire stylets. Materials most commonly used are stainless steel and nitinol, but we have worked with a variety of other materials.
