K-Wire Manufacturing
Kirschner wires are manufactured in strict adherence to customer specifications, primarily using certified materials such as: 304V Stainless Steel, 316LVM Stainless Steel and even Nickel Titanium (Nitinol), in some instances.
K-Wire characteristics include:
- Long, graduated tapering points - for easier penetration
- Smoothly polished exterior - to reduce trauma when removed
- Diamond - Single End and Double End
- Trocar - Single End and Double End
- Smooth, Threaded, or Fully Threaded

Thin, rigid stainless steel wires are used to manufacture Kirschner wires. Used in a variety of orthopedic and plastic surgery procedures, the primary purpose of a K-wire is to hold bone fragments stable.
By designing the wire ends with a drillable tip (diamond or trocar), Kirschner wires can be inserted through the skin and drilled through the bones... without actual surgery. |
